Family pet murdered during Harrison County burglary

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. – Two are facing charges after a family pet was murdered during a burglary on Factory Street in Harrison County.

Detectives from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department said Gary Arbogast, 34, and Lisa Nutter, 35, both of Jane Lee, entered the home through the garage door and grabbed the dog.

Following a verbal altercation with the occupant of the home, Nutter ordered Arbogast to shoot the dog. Arbogast pointed the weapon at the occupant before turning it on the dog and opening fire.

Police said the pair exited through the garage and fired a round into the gas tank of a parked motorcycle and another round into an air conditioner.

Nutter and Arbogast have been charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony, maliciously killing an animal, and wanton endangerment involving a firearm.
