Fentanyl, methamphetamine operation dismantled in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Multiple tips and hard investigative work resulted in the arrest of a Michigan man who was running a drug operation in Morgantown. The operation was allegedly run by Damir Swann, 28, of the Detroit area, whose group was reportedly well-armed and willing to use firearms to protect their money and drugs, according to police.

Members of the Mon Metro Drug & Violent Crime Task Force began a series of controlled drug buys in Dec. of 2023. During those transactions police learned Swann had accomplices from Ohio and Morgantown residents assisting in the sale of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Informants made purchases and eventually learned the group possessed more than a pound of fentanyl at a time and used Airbnbs and short-term rentals to store drugs, money and guns.

The operation gained speed when members of the gang checked out of an Airbnb on Flatts Lane in Morgantown and left two ounces of fentanyl valued at $6,000.

That discovery resulted in search warrants for residences on Brockway Avenue, Garrison Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue and Rockley Road.

Police recovered bundles of cash, ounces of fentanyl and methamphetamine, sales ledgers, loaded firearms and packaging materials.

Police arrested Damir Swann, Robert Crawford, 26; Jajuan Odum, 26; Darnell Spearman, 18; and Juan Patterson all from Detroit.  Kenietha Sandra Cason, 21, and Shdiamond Adams, 19, of Mansfield, Ohio. Morgantown residents Rebekah Rosalyn Feict, 47, and Emily Nicole McHenry, 34, were also arrested for their roles in assisting the operation.

Swann, Spearman and Crawford each face two counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.  Each are being held on a bond of $500,000.

Adams, Cason, Odum and McHenry all face one count of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. Bonds for Adams, Cason and Odum were set at $500,000. McHenry’s was set at $50,000.

Feicht is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.  Her bond is $50,000.
