Firearm violation leads to five years in federal prison

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Morgantown resident will serve more than five years in federal prison for illegal possession of a firearm.

Jaja Kiambu Fitzpatrick, 51, has ordered to serve 63 months in federal prison being found in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun after a previous armed robbery conviction in Michigan.

The judge also ordered Fitzpatrick to serve three years of supervised release following his sentence in federal prison.

The case was investigated by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; The United States Marshals Service, and the Morgantown Police Department.
