Four arrested in Morgantown burglaries over holiday weekend

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Two people are facing charges following the recovery of stolen property at a home on Falling Run Road.

Police executed a search warrant at 361 Falling Run Road, recovering video games, iPads, computers, checkbooks, television and home electronics, firearms, controlled substances and drug packaging materials.

Taylor Allman, 23, of Masontown is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. He also had an outstanding warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Additional charges are pending further investigation, according to investigators.

Police also charged John Christopher, 24, of Morgantown, as a felon in possession of a firearm. He also had an outstanding warrant for a parole violation. Additional charges are pending.

Officers have identified a number of victims of theft, but are still in the process of notifying all of them.

In a separate case, Morgantown Police arrested two men during a reported Christmas Eve burglary.

Officers confronted two men after hearing a scream from a residence on McLane Avenue.

The two men had taken jewelry from the victim, who was locked in a room inside her residence.

Paul Shaffer, 28, of Masontown is charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Joshua Crawford, 34, of Morgantown, faces the same charges as Shaffer.
