Four facing charges following altercation on University Avenue

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — Morgantown Police have arrested several individuals after a report of a suspect brandishing a firearm.

The suspects are identified as:

–Damarie Stewart, 21, of Charles Town, W.Va., charged with wanton endangerment.

–Edward White, 19, of Greensboro, Pa., charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer and public intoxication.

–Lawrence Morris, 20, of Morgantown, W.Va., charged with possession of a controlled substance and battery.

–Christian Coles, 22, no address available, charged with concealing stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

Police say they were called to the 1300 block of University Avenue just before 2 a.m. Saturday after a report of a suspect brandishing a firearm. When they arrived they found an individual with a head injury lying on the ground and several vehicles attempting to leave the area.

The victim, who police did not identify, was admitted to the hospital.

When police stopped one of the vehicles they found a firearm that had been reported as stolen as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
