Harrison County Road closed due to failure

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. – Officials in Harrison County have closed Hidden Valley Road to all traffic until further notice.

The West Virginia Division of Highways (DOH) said Monday that County Route 19/20, Hidden Valley Road, and also sometimes called Hackers Creek Road, is closed to all traffic, including emergency vehicles and school buses. The near-three-mile section of road connects Good Hope Pike with Duck Creek Road near Watters Smith Memorial State Park.

DOH officials said the site of the collapse is about a quarter mile from the intersection of Good Hope Pike and U.S. Route 19.

One detour around the project is River Bend Road or Duck Creek Road from the West Milford area or Interstate 79 and Duck Creek Road from the Jane Lew area.

No timeline for repairs has been announced.
