MORGANTOWN, W.Va. A Morgantown man is facing multiple charges after police investigated a report of a subject smoking marijuana on High Street on Friday.
At 10 a.m., police received a report of a black male wearing a red bucket hat smoking marijuana walking south on High Street.
Morgantown police encountered Destin McLendon, 21, in the 400 block of High Street, but McLendon told police he was smoking a cigarette. The investigating officer reported a strong odor of marijuana coming from McLendon and performed a search.
Police said McLendon had a backpack that contained a small amount of two types of marijuana, seven Xanax pills, and a white powder mixture that tested positive for methamphetamine, cocaine, and opiates. Police also found $921 in cash and another bag containing 1.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine in his possession.
McLendon has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
