Homecoming kickoff time announced, Mountaineers continue the climb

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia Mountaineers (3-1, 1-0) will host the Texas Longhorns (3-1,1-0) Saturday, October 5 for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Longhorns won their last outing against Oklahoma State 36-30, but in the process lost key members of the defense.

Junior cornerback Josh Thompson broke the fifth metatarsal bone in his foot and will be out for an undetermined period of time. Thompson has 11 tackles and one tackle for loss this season.

Sophomore Jalen Green dislocated his shoulder, he’ll be out for at least four weeks. Green has 16 tackles, one tackle for loss, and three passes broken up this season.

Freshman linebacker Marcus Tillman will be out for the remainder of the season with a knee sprain.

This is “Homecoming Weekend” for WVU and fans are encouraged to “Stripe the Stadium” for this nationally televised event. Fans in even-numbered sections should wear gold and fans in odd-numbered sections should wear blue.

The game will be aired on ABC or ESPN.
