I-79 exits to close in Lewis County for bridge project

LEWIS COUNTY, W.Va. – A bridge replacement project will close an I-79 exit in Lewis County for about one year, according to the West Virginia Department of Highways.

The Roanoke/Stonewall Resort exit will be closed while crews work to replace the outer lanes of the bridges over U.S. 19.

During Phase I of the project, the exits will be completely closed and traffic will be detoured to the South Weston exit. The entrance ramps at the Roanoke/Stonewall Resort exit will remain open.

When construction on the outer lanes is completed, the exits will reopen and work will shift to the inbound lanes.

In May, Triton Construction Inc. was awarded a contract for $15,767,000 to replace the two interstate bridges.
