Investigators looking for Monongalia Co. craft store armed robber

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Monongalia County detectives are searching for a man who held up a local craft store.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy, the man entered Michael’s Craft Store with a black handgun and demanded money from a clerk about 8:25 Monday night.

There were no injuries, but the store was open with close to a dozen customers inside during the robbery.

The suspect is a white man, 6′ tall and approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black mask and black gloves at the time of the armed robbery.

The sweatshirt had the words West Virginia printed on the front.

The suspect was last seen leaving the Venture Drive location with an undetermined amount of cash.
