‘Letters From Home’ comes to the Met Saturday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. The Metropolitan Theatre will host “Letters from Home” on Saturday, February 4 at 7 p.m. The show was founded in 2010 and includes a mix of music from World War II, Vietnam, and beyond.

Coast Guard veteran Pat Dearth developed the idea, and more than 900 shows have been presented across the country.

“Letters from Home” is a USO-based production that encourages audience participation. According to Dearth, they’ll incorporate that USO style into contemporary songs.”

We’re going to be tap dancing and singing Credence Clearwater Revival, Buffalo Springfield, and the Animals, so that’s pretty unique,” Dearth said.

This is the first time the tour will hit all 50 states, and Erin Dearth said it is now a reality following the pandemic.

“It’s a really fun interactive show that is now on our 50-state tour,” Dearth said. “We’re doing one show in each of the United States from now until May.”

The show is interactive, and Dearth said at some point a member of the audience could end up on stage.
