Lewis County Fair cancelled for ’23

WESTON, W.Va. The Lewis County Fair has been cancelled. Organizers said they are looking for a new location for the fair, and they’ll use this time to raise money for the event next year.

The event has only been held twice in the last six years. After a four-year break, the fair returned in 2021 and resumed again in 2022, but without carnival rides. At the time, fair officials said the ride vendor had canceled and another company could not be found.

In a post on social media, fair officials also said recent events added at Jackson’s Mill are not a replacement for the Lewis County Fair.

The full statement is here:
The Lewis County Fair has made the difficult decision to cancel our event this year. The new fair and expo being held at the end of August in Jackson’s Mill has no affiliation with our fair whatsoever and is NOT replacing the Lewis County Fair. The Lewis County Fair is not dissolving but is taking time to find a new fair location. Please stay tuned for fundraising events to be held throughout the next year and opportunities to get involved to help the fair.
