Liquor license suspended at Morgantown bar following shooting

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The liquor license for the Mainstage Bar in downtown Morgantown has been suspended while the state Alcohol Beverage Control Administration looks into Sunday morning’s shooting.

ABCA Commissioner Ronald Moats suspended the bar’s liquor license for ten days on Tuesday as the ABCA looks into the incident on September 25, that put an Ohio man in the hospital.

Morgantown Police found Dorion Banks, 26, of Bridgeport, Ohio, in a parking lot near the bar with a gunshot wound to his torso. Investigators were able to determine that a fight start inside Mainstage Bar and during the scuffle shots were fired. Banks was able to get out of the bar in the ensuing chaos.

Detectives questioned a number of potential witnesses at the scene.

So far no suspects have been named in the investigation.
