Local man convicted for his role in multi-state drug ring

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – A federal judge has sentenced another drug suspect arrested in the September 2020 operation conducted by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. This time, a Morgantown man to four years for dealing in heroin.

Kyle Martin, 33, of Morgantown, admitted to having heroin in Mon County in November of 2019 and entered a guilty plea to possession with intent to distribute heroin in November of 2020.

In September of 2020, U.S. Deputy Marshal Terry Moore said,” We arrested 16 out of 17 individuals and ended up in four different states. Eleven of those individuals were arrested around the Morgantown area, five were arrested in Detroit, one in Pennsylvania and one in Maryland.”

During that operation, multiple agencies arrested 17 people from four states that were distributing heroin and cocaine in the Morgantown and surrounding areas. Investigators said the operation had a clear organization structure that transported the drugs from the Detroit area to Morgantown.
