Major area hospitals targeted in class action lawsuit regarding overtime pay

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. Three former employees of West Virginia United Health Systems (WVUHS), the parent company of West Virginia University Hospitals, and others have filed a class-action lawsuit accusing the company of improperly compensating workers for overtime.

Dominique Heard, Amanda Luzader, and Kenneth Miklich, former or current employees of West Virginia United Health Systems, brought the lawsuit.

The plaintiffs claim they and others were not properly compensated for overtime wages after working more than 40 hours in a week.

The suit seeks back pay plus interest, liquidated damages, and payment of attorneys’ fees from WVUHS.

According to the lawsuit, more than 10,000 other employees could have also been improperly compensated.
