Major I-79 delays expected as part of overhead sign work tonight

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Lane closures on I-79 in Marion County are expected to cause major delays Wednesday night and Thursday morning, according to the West Virginia Division of Highways.

On the northbound side between mile marker 133, Kingmont, and mile marker 135, Millersville/Pleasant Valley, crews will install overhead signs between 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, and 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22.

Unforeseen poor weather conditions could extend the schedule.

Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel or avoid the area if possible.
