Man pleads guilty in Dorsey Ave. murder

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A man involved in a Morgantown murder pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and faces decades in prison.

Jason Boyd, charged with first degree murder in death of Luther Hill, admitted to second degree murder, malicious wounding and wanton endangerment.

Boyd’s Aug. 23 guilty plea stems from a shooting at Solomon’s Village trailer park in January 2015.

Hill, 43, was struck by a bullet while in his vehicle, drove to nearby Marjorie Gardens and from there transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he died.

A second victim was injured in the shooting.

Boyd up to 65 years in prison from the three charged combined.
