Man still in critical condition after weekend wreck

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.– One of the men involved in a Saturday crash in Monongalia County remains in Ruby Memorial Hospital. Andrew Mainenti is still listed in critical condition following a single-vheicle accident at the intersection of Chaplin Road and U.S. 19.

Sheriff’s officials say Andrew Mainenti was driving a 2001 Kia Sportage north on U.S. 19 at a high rate of speed early Saturday morning and lost control of the vehicle. The car careened into the grassy median and slammed into a steel traffic light pole. Mainenti, of Weirton, and his passenger, Bryce Mullins of Follansbee, were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. Mullins is no longer listed as a patient at Ruby Memorial.
