Mannington man faces drug charges after routine traffic stop

MANNINGTON, W.Va. – A routine traffic stop by West Virginia State Police resulted in a methamphetamine arrest Jan. 7.

Troopers were patrolling the area of Buffalo Brink Road when they observed a vehicle driven by Rickey Jarvis, 63, of Mannington, that could not maintain lane control.

When troopers stopped Jarvis, he told them there was a firearm under the passenger seat. When troopers retrieved the firearm, they also found a black magnetic box. In the box, police found a white substance that Jarvis confirmed was methamphetamine. Troopers also located multiple bags in the vehicle.

Jarvis has been charged with possession with intent to deliver and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
