Marion County business operator accussed of tax crimes

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – A Marion County business operator has been charged with 32 criminal counts associated with filing false tax returns.

Jack Lee Oliver, 55, of Rivesville, allegedly committed the offenses as owner of the Insurance Depot in Fairmont. Oliver is accused of making false claims on his personal tax returns and tax filings for customers, resulting in overpayments of more than $800,000 from the Internal Revenue Service.

Oliver is facing up to three years in federal prison for each count.

The Internal Revenue Service conducted the investigation.
