Marion County special education teacher suspended indefinitely

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Marion County Board of Education has indefinitely suspended a special education teacher for using inappropriate force against a student.

Superintendent Dr. Donna Heston said the incident occurred at West Fairmont Middle School, but due to the ongoing investigation, details were unavailable.

“We do all that we can to support our students as well as our staff and our schools in being able to provide for the safety of every child,” Heston said.

Heston said the incident has been reported and the investigation is ongoing.

“Marion County Schools has made the necessary reports to the agencies that are required for further investigation,” Heston said.
