BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. — Police believe speed was a factor in a deadly motorcycle accident on Interstate 68 in Preston County.
Anton Schuberthan, 35, of Friendsville, MD, was killed in the crash Wednesday night near Bruceton Mills. Preston County Sheriff’s Deputies report Schuberthan was headed westbound when he lost control of the racing-style Suzuki. He went off the right side of the road, hit a sign post and several trees.
The wreck was reported at 8:19 p.m. HealthNet was dispatched to the scene but did not transport anyone.
Authorities do not believe Schuberthan was on his way to the MountainFest motocycle rally in Monongalia County.
