Masontown fire chief accused of domestic violence

MASONTOWN, W.Va. – Masontown Volunteer Fire Department Chief Daniel Luzier is facing allegations of domestic violence.

The 68-year-old was arrested Aug. 21 after a female told police he put his hands on her and she feared for her safety.

Troopers with the West Virginia State Police reported red marks on the woman’s body where she alleged that Luzier had hit and scratched her.

Luzier faces up to 12 months in jail and a fine of up to $500 if convicted of one count of misdemeanor domestic battery.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Luzier was being held in the Tygart Valley Regional in lieu of a $2,500 cash or surety bond.
