Masontown man jailed after threatening prosecutor

MASONTOWN, W.Va. – In Preston County, a Masontown man is facing charges of threatening an assistant prosecuting attorney in front of a parole office during an inspection at his son’s home and again when he was placed under arrest.

On Oct. 9, 2023, a parole officer was inspecting the home of Jason Lambert when his father, Mark Lambert, 65, allegedly said,If he (Jason) gets life, then that prosecutor will get life too. I’ll act like I’m security for her, and I’ll get her when she least expects it.”

Jason was successfully prosecuted in a 2018 kidnapping case and faces other current charges.

On Wednesday, Oct. 19, when police served an arrest warrant for Mark for making terrorist threats, he allegedly said two more times that he killed the assistant prosecutor.

Mark Lambert is being held in the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $300,000 cash-only bail.
