HAZELTON, W.Va. A search party located a Morgantown woman reported missing last month.
A search party located the remains and vehicle of Melanie Marie Gardner, 32, in a remote location in the Hazelton area of Casteel Road.
Gardner was last seen driving a black Jeep Patriot on October 3.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia Medical Examiner are conducting the investigation.
No other details have been released.
The search on Saturday was coordinated by Preston County 911, Mountain Area Rescue Group, Preston County Sheriff’s Office and the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office.
