MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Monongalia County Grand Jury begins it’s September session Thursday.
Jurors could hear the name 19-yearold Julie Elizabeth Porreca. Porreca, who was residing in Pennsylvania, brought her seven-month-old child to stay with a relative in Morgantown when the child passed away last September.
Investigators believe the child had suffered injuries consistent with abuse, but said Porreca failed to seek medical attention.
The child also was suffering from pneumonia. Porreca told investigators she gave the child medication for the fever, but an autopsy discovered it was an “adult antidepressant.”
Submission of names to the Grand Jury is expected to wrap up Friday.
