MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Monongalia County man is dead after police say he drew a knife on a Sheriff’s deputy while attempting to make an arrest.
John Stewart Jr., 46, is said to have threatened to stab his sister with a knife, leading to the response by police at a mobile home on Mason Dixon Highway Wednesday evening.
Stewart reportedly refused to follow verbal commands. A deputy pepper sprayed Stewart, who then is said to have drawn a knife.
