More than 70 now cited in Morgantown fake ID sweeps

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — 22 underage residents from 10 different states are facing consequences this week after police found them in possession of alcohol or attempting to buy alcohol using a fake ID.

The 22 cited include:

  • David William Dare, 19, of Niskayuna, NY
  • Thomas James Decoste, 19, of Bristow, VA
  • Marco Fazio 19, of Upton, MA
  • Brendan Christopher Felag, 19, of Milford, CT
  • Amanda Jane Griffith, 18, of Morgantown, WV
  • Giorgi Kapandze, 18, of Rye, NY
  • Andrew Kent Michael, 19, of Honeoye Falls, NY
  • John William Odonnel, 19, of Poolesville, MD
  • Maeve Elizabeth Parisi, 18, of Venetia, PA
  • Aghik Patel, 19, of Buddinglane, NJ
  • Halle Marie Peterson, 19, of Chaglin Falls, OH
  • Colia Hunter Plante, 19, of Beckley, WV
  • Cullen Phillip Platz, 19, of Toledo, OH
  • Gianmarco Luis Rossi, 19, of American, CA
  • Owen Samuel Stull, 20, of New Providence, PA

Since the start of the Fall 2017 semester, police have cited more than 70 underage residents for either displaying or possessing fake or altered ID, loaning ID to another person for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose, or displaying or using ID not issued to the person in possession.

Morgantown Police say all those are subject to either a $500.00 fine and/or a suspension of driving privileges.
