Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce announces familiar leaders as executive team

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A new leadership team has been announced for the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce.

Stephen LaCagnin is the new chamber President and CEO.  LaCagnin, an attorney with Jackson Kelly, is a former chamber board chairman and acted as the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties campaign chair and board president on two different occasions.

LaCagnin replaces Jason Pizatella who left the chamber after six months when he was appointed to serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Jim Justice.

Former Main Street Morgantown director Terri Cutright has been named as the chamber’s Chief Operating Officer.  Cutright owns and operates a management and marketing company that has been operating since her retirement from Main Street.

Eldon Callen, a former Monongalia County commissioner who recently lost his reelection bid, is the chamber’s Vice President for Government Affairs and Economic and Community Development.

Callen’s name has been mentioned in a number of circles for possible leadership positions since the November election.  An effort on his behalf was underway to gather the 75 names of registered voters needed to place his name as a candidate on the City of Morgantown’s April election.

A release from the chamber said “The three bring extensive business & non-profit leadership and economic and community development experience to the Chamber.”

Chad Prather, Market President of Huntington Bank and current Board Chair of the Chamber commented, “We now have three outstanding business and community leaders heading the Chamber.  LaCagnin, Cutright and Callen have invested their entire public and private careers in the economic and social development of Greater Morgantown. I could not name a better team to lead the organization or represent its 400 plus members. They have the history and vision to adapt the Chamber as it moves forward and grows with Morgantown”.
