Morgantown attorney expected to announce State Supreme Court bid

wajr_plugMorgantown, W.Va. — Attorney Beth Walker will officially announce that she’s running for the West Virginia state Supreme Court in 2016 tomorrow. That seat is currently held by Justice Brent Benjamin, who is running for re-election to a second term.

According to Hoppy Kercheval, as written in his MetroNews commentary, “Benjamin is a Republican and Walker ran unsuccessfully for the Supreme Court in 2008 as a Republican, but because of a change by the West Virginia Legislature earlier this year, all judicial elections starting in 2016 will be non-partisan. Just like the local school board races, the election will be on Primary Election day.”

Walker, Associate General Counsel for the West Virginia United Health System, is holding a press conference tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the Waterfront Place Hotel.

She’s hosting another conference in Charleston outside of the East Wing, West Virginia State Capitol on California Avenue (State Supreme Court Entrance) at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
