Morgantown fast food worker diagnosed with hepatitis A

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Officials from the Monongalia County Health Department say a worker from the Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen on Earl L. Core Road has tested positive for hepatitis A.

Any resident that ate at the establishment from September 30 through October 16 is advised to get a hepatitis A vaccine to prevent the infection.

Those exhibiting syptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, low-grade fever, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, achiness, dark urine, weight loss and/or jaundice is encouraged to be tested.

Health department officials and Popeyes are making sure current employees get the vaccine before returning to work and the facility is thoroughly cleaned.
