Morgantown man arrested in High Street homicide

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — One man is dead and another person was injured in a downtown Morgantown shooting.  A third man faces a murder charge.

Officers were called to the 200 block of High Street shortly after 9:00 p.m. for shots fired.

A Morgantown Fire Marshall observed a disturbance and was approaching the parties involved at the time of the shooting. The suspect was reported to have fled the area in a green Pontiac.

A man was murdered near an alley that runs between High Street and Spruce Street near the former magistrate court. His name has not been released.

A second shooting victim and the suspect’s car were located on Brockway Avenue.  David Annonio, 21 of Morgantown, was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound in his lower leg.

Lemir Ryvel Baker-Moore, 21 of Morgantown, was arrested and charged with murder.

Witnesses told police the man who was murdered and Annonio were fighting in the downtown alley when Baker-Moore fired multiple rounds striking both men.

The investigation continues.
