Morgantown man faces strangulation charges

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A domestic incident in Mon County’s Canyon Village resulted in one arrest Monday evening.

Deputies say upon arrival a disorderly conduct warning was given to Albert Boyd, 50, due to excessive cursing and belligerrent behavior.

The female victim told deputies Boyd strangled her with a lighter leash and his hands, then punched a man who tried to intervene. They told police they were able to get Boyd out of the house and lock the door, but Boyd continued to attempt to break in.

The female victim had marks on her neck and the male had red marks below his eye.

Deputies identified blood on the porch and an imprint on the door as belonging to Boyd.

Boyd has been charged with strangulation and attempt to commit a felony and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
