Morgantown restaurant announces temporary closure

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Jamaican Spice owners have announced a pause in operations via social media. Owners say the past year has been very difficult and prioritizing work and family obligations has become too difficult.

The following statement was released Wednesday:

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that we will be closing our doors for the time being. The last year and a half had been an amazing experience and I am truly grateful for our wonderful customers. The community has been extremely supportive especially during these trying times. I have made wonderful friendships of which I will cherish forever and I have had a wonderful time sharing my passion for cooking with the community. However, at this time, it is best for me and my family if I step away. It has been difficult for me to balance my commitment to the restaurant and my commitment to raising my four children. This is not goodbye forever. As conditions change, I may be back and will look forward to seeing all of you back in the restaurant. I want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our customers as I say goodbye, for now.
