Morgantown shooting victim identified as Ohio man

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown police have released the identity of a man shot inside a Chestnut Street bar.

Dorion Banks, 26 of Bridgeport, Ohio, was in stable condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery for a gunshot wound to his torso.

Investigators have determined someone fired at least one shot during a fight inside Mainstage Bar around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24.

Banks was among a number of patrons who fled the bar.

Officers found him wounded in a parking lot next to the building.

Officers have questioned a number of potential witnesses at the scene. Detectives have processed the scene for evidence and reviewing video of the incident.
