Mother dies in Morgantown OD, one charged

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In Morgantown, a seven-year-old child is without a mother, and a resident is facing child neglect charges following a double overdose incident Sunday.

On April 23, Steven Hunter, 34, and Beverly Amber Wright were found unresponsive in the bedroom.

When West Virginia State Police arrived, two clear plastic bags of white powder, burnt foil, and a straw were within reach of the child and in open view.

Wright was pronounced deceased at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, where Hunter was admitted.

Hunter is being held in the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
