MountainFest traffic restrictions announced

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Police in Morgantown will alter traffic patterns on Saturday, July 27 for the MountainFest Parade of Bikes.

At 1 p.m. the parade will leave the WVU Coliseum and travel south on Monongahela Boulevard, to Campus Drive then right onto University Avenue. The parade will travel by the Mountainlair, then assume the normal parade route down High Street.

Motorists should expect traffic restrictions beginning at noon near the coliseum and restrictions along the parade route will commence at 1 p.m.

Parking for cars on High Street will be restricted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the parade, only motorcycles will be allowed to park on High Street.

Access to downtown will not be permitted via the Walnut Street Bridge or the Pleasant Street Bridge. Willey Street traffic will detoured to Prospect Street and restricted at University Avenue and Willey Street. Motorists entering downtown from Beechurst Avenue will be delayed during the parade.

Traffic will return to normal patterns as soon as possible.
