FAIRMONT, W,Va. – Multiple fire crews are on the scene of a fire at the Clarion Hotel site in Fairmont, in the 900 block of East Grafton Road.
The initial call came in at 1:30 p.m., and mutual support came from multiple counties, and the DOH ordered the closure of East Grafton Road. That closure is expected to last into the evening on Wednesday.
Initially, there was a report of entrapment, but that was retracted early on in the fight.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
Fire departments from Fairmont, Winfield, Valley, Boothsville, Bunners Ridge, Barrackville, Rivesville, Monongah, Mannington, Grant Town, Fairmont, Shinnston, Nutter Fort, and Bridgeport were on the scene.
