Mylan Park to hosts the 3rd Annual Monster Splash at Aquatics Center

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Mylan Park Aquatics Center is ready to host the 3rd Annual Monster Splash.

Festivities will begin on Sunday, October 22, starting at 1 p.m. with food, games, and activities for kids of all ages. Tickets will be available for as low as $7, with options to purchase a “Splash Pass” for $25. The “Splash Pass” includes general admission for any child over the age of two, access to bounce houses, the floating pumpkin patch, and 15 tickets for other activities that will be set up around the facility.

“When parents get their tickets, their kids will get to play a variety of 10 to 12 games,” said. Mylan Park Assistant Director of Outreach Danielle Rudash “We have pony rides and bounce houses, so there is all kinds of stuff for them to participate in.”

The popular floating pumpkin patch will be hosted at the Aquatics Center Community Pool. Anyone who wishes to get in the water after they try out the close to dozen activities that’ll be open on Sunday will be able to swim and grab a pumpkin that your family can take home. Pumpkins will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“So we’re getting hundreds and hundreds of little pie pumpkins, and they’ll be in the pool,” said Rudash. “After they play all their games, they can go swimming and get their own pumpkin,” she said.

The Spider Web Obstacle Course will also be available for kids of all ages, with sack races, ghost takedown competitions, witches hat ring toss, pop a pumpkin, and pin the spider on the web contests taking place all afternoon. Prizes will also be given out as part of a kids costume contest and the spider web obstacle course. There will also be craft booths set up around the Mylan Park Aquatics Center.

“We’re doing slime making, there’s going to be cookie decorating, so you can learn how to make those pretty cookies you see on Instagram, all types of stuff,” Rudash said.

Free admission will be offered for any child under the age of two who will be able to be a part of the 3rd Annual Monster Splash. Aquatic Center members will get exclusive discounts, and any accompanying adults will be able to join their children for $7. All of the over dozen activities will be suitable for any child, regardless of age.

“We welcome all ages,” said Rudash “From 2 and under is free admission, and then from 3 to 12 is that sweet spot where all activities are geared to that age level.”

The 3rd Annual Monster Splash will be held on Sunday, October 22, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
