New fire station opens in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. After seven years of planning, the Bridgeport Fire Department cut the ribbon on a new station.

The $3 million project was first proposed in 2016, but was paused until new leadership revived the project in 2022.

The new station on Main Street will help the department operate more efficiently.

An open house is being held Friday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the public to come and look at the new building.
