New York man sentenced for drug distribute in Monongalia County

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A New York man has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for distributing cocaine.

Derrick Sutton, 31, of New York, New York, faces 151 months in prison. He pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting possession with intent to distribute cocaine base last August. Sutton admitted to working with others to distribute crack cocaine in Monongalia County in March 2017.

The Mon Metro Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated.
