No injuries after accident leads to lengthy I-68 shutdown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A multi-vehicle accident near Exit 1 on I-68 shut down multiple portions of both I-68 east and west bound Thursday morning.

Police responded to the accident after 5 a.m., which involved two tractor trailers and one passenger vehicle.

It remains unclear how the accident occurred, but remains under investigation.

The eastbound lanes re-opened after about an hour Thursday morning. The westbound lanes were still backed up for approximately three miles while wreckers work on hauling the semis on that side of the highway.
