KINGWOOD, W.Va. – An employee of a Kingwood area nursing home has been accused of stealing cell phones from elderly residents.
Detectives from the Preston County Sheriff’s Department began the investigation on April 1 when a report of a theft at Stonerise Healthcare was reported.
When investigators learned three cell phones were missing, they used the “Find My iPhone” feature to locate the devices. The system led detectives to the home of Cindy Rhodea, 46, on North Preston Highway, who is also an employee at Stonerise Healthcare.
Investigators determined Rhodes used the phones to call her family members by using phone records from the victims families.
Rhodes has been charged with financial exploitation of the elderly. She is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
