MANNINGTON, W.Va. An arrest has been made recently after an investigation into a November 2023 accident in the Mannington area.
On November 19, 2023, police were dispatched to Flat Run Road on a report of a single-vehicle accident.
Police found the vehicle over an embankment with the airbag deployed, Christina McCarty, and an unnamed juvenile who was reportedly driving at the time of the mishap.
After determining both were under the influence of a controlled substance, a probable cause search was conducted.
During that search, police allegedly found methamphetamine, marijuana, and fentanyl in the car.
Christina McCarty has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and child neglect causing a risk of injury.
McCarty is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
