MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. – Deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department have charged Shaun LaPointe, 42, with attempted murder after he allegedly shot a woman in the head during an argument.
Deputies were called to Healthy Heights Village Sunday and encountered the female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the right side of her head. The victim told police LaPointe got a gun during an argument, and when she tried to swat it away, it discharged and hit her.
Deputies said LaPointe admitted to arguing with the woman and getting a gun.
LaPointe is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
