One arrested in ATV pursuit with speeds near 70-miles-per-hour

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. Deputies with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department made one arrest following an ATV pursuit that reached speeds of near 70 miles per hour.

Deputies said Isaac Prichard, 28, was operating the ATV into oncoming traffic on Stony Run Road and did not stop before making a left turn onto Brushy Fork Road.

When deputies attempted to stop Prichard, he accelerated to speeds of 67 miles per hour, driving past Stonecoal Road, then stopped in the 3600 block of Brushy Fork Road, where he pulled into a driveway.

Prichard was arrested there without incident.

Deputies said Prichard showed signs of intoxication and provided a breath sample that registered a blood alcohol level of.130.

Prichard has been charged with fleeing while drunk and is being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash-only bond.
