MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal dirt bike accident in the Core area.
At 3:15 p.m. Thursday, investigators said the motorcyclist was eastbound on the single-lane gravel Henderson Hollow Road when he encountered a pickup truck and laid the bike down.
The driver of the pickup truck was unable to avoid the motorcyclist and struck him.
The motorcyclist was declared deceased at the scene.
The truck driver was treated for minor injuries at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
No names have been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
