MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Morgantown Police Department is the lead agency in the investigation into a downtown Morgantown shooting that injured one person Sunday.
Shortly before 4 a.m. on Sunday, a fight reportedly occurred at the entrance of The Bank located at 344 High Street. During the altercation reports indicate several shots were fired and an adult man was hit in the abdomen. The wounded male fled to a nearby Mon EMS crew for treatment. The victim was then transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
The suspected shooter and others involved ran from the area prior to the arrival of police. Police officers and detectives searched the area for evidence, witnesses and any available video evidence.
No arrests have been made in relation to the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
