Police arrest fugitive, confiscate drugs during routine Bridgeport traffic stop

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. Police in Bridgeport confiscated fentanyl and arrested a local man on an outstanding arrest warrant during a routine traffic stop Monday.

Police stopped Christopher Reed, of Reynoldsville, after he crossed the centerline while driving on Route 26.

When police approached the vehicle along Douglas Dairy Road, they smelled the odor of marijuana.

When police searched the vehicle, they found more than $7,000 in cash, two grams of marijuana, two grams of fentanyl, and three sets of digital scales.

Reed is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
