Police charge Kingwood woman with hitting an emergency room nurse

KINGWOOD, W.Va. — A Kingwood woman was charged with battery of a health care provider after police say she hit an emergency room nurse in the jaw.

Jessica L. Blair, 33, was in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Monday in lieu of $7,000 bond. According to the criminal complaint by Kingwood Police Chief C.W. Haney, Blair became agitated Friday while being treated at Preston Memorial.

Blair pulled out her IV, cursed, screamed, was upset over the medicine she was receiving and, just before leaving, walked back to the nurse’s station and hit a nurse in the jaw with her fist. The incident was caught on surveillance video, Haney said.
